WHO Approved China Commentary: Amore

Geneva, 7 May

A major committee of the World Health Organization (WHO) has decided to approve the emergency use of the Chinese covid vaccine. According to a WHO spokesperson, this has paved the way for countries to be vaccinated through the United Nations program. With approval, the Sinoform vaccine can be added to the UN’s CoVAX program, which is providing further vaccines to low-income countries.

However, China has not released much data on the vaccine. A group advising the United Nations agency says that the Chinese vaccine has been shown to be effective in the 18–59 age group. He has expressed “confidence” in its effectiveness. -App
