Pune: England captain Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings were injured in the first match of the three-game ODI series against India, after which they are both in doubt about playing in the second ODI.
Suspense to play at Morgan-Billings
With Eoin Morgan and Sam Billings not playing, half the strength of the England cricket team will work. These two batsmen are experts at explosive hitters and can turn any game of their day.
Morgan has stitches on his thumb and finger
Morgan’s thumb and forefinger were injured in the area, requiring four stitches. Billings sustained a “collarbone” injury while diving to stop the border.
The second ODI for England will be ‘do or die’
Morgan said after the game: “ We’ll have to wait another 48 hours to see how this injury is. I haven’t told Sam about his stick, so I don’t know about him. As far as I’m concerned, that 100% won’t be fair, but it’s not that I can’t hold my bat. Trailing 0-1 in England’s three-game ODI series, the second ODI will be ‘do or die’ on Friday, otherwise the team will lose this series as well.
