Karachi: The South African team will travel to Pakistan for the first time in 14 years to play two tests and three international T20 matches in January-February next year. This will be the first time since 2007 that South Africa has visited Pakistan.

South Africa will reach Karachi on January 16 and will be quarantined ahead of the first test match which will be played at the national stadium from January 26. The same three T20 matches will be played in Lahore.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement: “The South African team will reach Karachi on January 16 and play the first test match January 26-30 at the National Stadium Karachi.”

He said: “ After that she will go to Rawalpindi where the second test match is to be played from February 4 to 8. Three international T20 matches will be played on February 11, 13 and 14 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) director Graeme Smith wrote: “It is satisfying to see that many countries are returning to Pakistan. Cricket South Africa is happy to be counted in these countries. I have visited Pakistan more than once and can tell from my experience how passionate Pakistanis are about cricket.
