New Delhi: Parthiv Patel, wicket keeper for the Indian team, has announced his retirement from all formats of cricket. The player, who made his debut at the age of 17, has had a long career of 18 years.

Parthiv Patel wrote a very moving post on social media giving information about his retirement. His wife Avni Patel also wrote a message on Twitter, supporting his decision. He wrote: “Dear husband, I cannot believe this day has come. I know how difficult it is to say goodbye to cricket, for us too ”.

He wrote: “We are proud of all the work you have done. You are a human being and you have made a difference ”. While wishing him life to come, his wife wrote, “I hope you have success and happiness on this new journey. You have a lot of opportunities ahead and you can do whatever you want.

Start in 2002
Patel (Parthiv Patel) made his Test debut in 2002 at the age of 17 in England. He played 25 tests, 38 ODIs and two T20 matches for India. He last played for the Indian team in Johannesburg in 2018. India won in this match.
He was also on the team when India first won the Test Series in Australia in 2018-19.
Rule on domestic cricket
In addition to playing for India, Patel gave Gujarat the Vijay Hazare Trophy title in 2015. He scored a century against Delhi in the final.
He also continued his success in the Ranji Trophy final next season. Patel, who scored 143 points against Mumbai in the final, chased the target and gave his team the Ranji Trophy title.
The left handed batsman has scored over 11,000 points in 194 first class cricket. It marked 27 centuries and 67 half-centuries.

In the Indian Premier League (IPL), Patel (Parthiv Patel) played for a total of six franchises. He was part of the team that won the title three times. He won titles with the Chennai Super Kings in 2010 and with the Mumbai Indians in 2015, 2017.

He played a total of 139 IPL matches. In these IPL matches, 2,848 points were scored by Patel’s bat which includes 13 half-centuries. He was also part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore this season but has not made any games.
