Chennai: RCB will play the IPL 2021 (IPL 2021) opener against the Mumbai Indians on April 9. The captain of the “Red Army” is very enthusiastic about the current form of the players of Virat Kohli’s team.

Kohli is the admirer of Siraj and Sundar

Virat Kohli believes that young teams like Washington Sundar and Mohammed Siraj have gained confidence playing for India which will help their RCB squad in IPL 2021.

“ It will be beneficial to play at the international level ”

On the eve of IPL’s 14th season, Virat Kohli opened up about how playing internationally helped him during the IPL when he was young and so should Washington and Siraj.

‘The team will gain strength’

Kohli said: “The confidence of playing internationally as a youngster has helped me a lot in IPL. Vashi, (Navdeep) Saini and Siraj were doing well and Yuji (Yuzvendra Chahal) was also there for a short time, he knows his personality, it will help us to become stronger as a team and move in the right direction.

Kohli trusts young people

Kohli takes the greatest relief that having young players in his squad will prove to be a headache for the opposing team. He said, “Our young people have gained experience and have become confidants. Now the opposing team knows that these players can have an impact in all circumstances, which is a good sign for us.

“ The land at home will not benefit ”

This time around, neither team will benefit from the pitch at home and according to Kohli that’s a good thing. He said: “There is nothing better than playing at Chinnaswamy Stadium but the good thing is that we are playing in India and one positive thing about last year is that this time also no pitch will be taken.”

Each match will take place on neutral ground

Kohli said: “Each team is playing on neutral ground and that shows the strength of the team and that’s why the previous IPL was very competitive. With the exception of the last 3-4 matches, all the teams were in the race to qualify for the playoffs, which is fantastic for the tournament as the number of spectators watching the match was very high last time around.

Expect better performance

Virat Kohli said: “ After doing well in such a competitive environment last year, I have no doubts that we will do well this time too. Significantly, the RCB team have not been able to win the IPL title even once in the past 13 years. This franchise hopes their performance this year will be better.
