Dubai: Indian player Ravichandran Ashwin (R Ashwin), England captain Joe Root and Kyle Meyers of the West Indies were named ICC Player of the Month. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the nominations for the Male and Female Player of the Month for February. Among the women, Tammy Beaumont from England, Brook Holliday from New Zealand and Natalie Skiver from England were nominated for it.
Ashwin has performed brilliantly in the ongoing four-game test series against England. Ashwin (R Ashwin) scored 106 points in the second inning of the second test, while in the third test he managed the feat of taking 400 wickets in his career. Ashwin (R Ashwin) scored 176 points in three tests and took 24 wickets.
Joe Root also performed well against India not only with the bat, but also with the ball. He scored 333 points in three matches and took six wickets. Root had scored 218 points in the first test, which saw the team beat India.
Meyers had scored a 210 winner against Bangladesh in their first Test and played a key role in helping the team win in the first Test.
Beaumont has scored half centuries in all three ODI Series matches against New Zealand and was instrumental in helping the team win the series. He scored 231 points in that series.
Holiday also performed well against England and scored 110 points in the series and won two wickets. Skiver scored 96 points in the series and won five wickets. Skiver was the highest wicket taker in the ODI series between England and New Zealand.
