Pune: A series of 3 one-day international cricket matches between India and England (IND vs ENG) in Pune will be played in the empty stadium due to the increase in corona virus cases in Maharashtra. The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) gave this information on Saturday.
3 ODIs will be played on March 23, 26 and 28 at MCA Stadium in Gahunje on the outskirts of Pune City. Previously, 2 tests, 4 ODIs and 3 international T20 matches took place on this field.

The MCA said in a press release: ‘Considering the severity of the increasing cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra, following the instructions of the Honorable CM Uddhav Thackeray, it has been decided that it will be approved to organize these matches without spectators.

MCA President Vikas Kakatkar met with CM Uddhav Thackeray and Tourism and Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray (Aaditya ji Thackeray) as well as Board Chairman Malind Narvekar to organize matches of a day.
The Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) said the CM had asked them to take all precautions against players and officials. The MCA thanked the ICC, BCCI and former MCA President Sharad Pawar for their help and suggestions.
