Ahmedabad: England spinner Adil Rashid has no regrets not having had his chance in IPL 2021. He was not expected to be selected due to the presence of a large number of spinners already in this tournament.
Adil Rashid never managed to grab the attention of IPL franchisees even after performing better internationally in recent years and the same happened in the last Indian T20 mega league auction.

Rashid said on the eve of T20’s second international match against India: “I won’t say it’s unfortunate, obviously a lot of spinners are associated with this league. India also has a local track, so I didn’t expect to be elected myself.
The 33-year-old said: “ It would have been nice to have a contract with the IPL, but like I said, you can send your name for such tournaments and hope that a team chooses you. The same thing happens in IPL or other tournaments.
England surprised India by bowling Adil Rashid in the first game of the T20 5-game series on Friday. Rashid not only played economically but also dismissed Virat Kohli to zero.
He said, “Bowling with a new ball is nothing new to me. I have been working there for a few years. I hope I can continue this performance, whether it’s the first six overs or the middle and last overs, I want to work hard to improve myself.
After recovering from a shoulder injury, Adil Rashid is giving full attention to limited cricket. He said, “I’m not thinking of Test cricket or Ashes. The World Cup has yet to take place and there is still a lot of cricket left before that. I’m focusing on white ball cricket right now.
