Brisbane: Australian batsman Steve Smith was accused of damaging the pitch on the last day of the Sydney test. This video of him was also very viral on social media. Australia head coach Justin Langer has categorically rejected the allegations.
Steve Smith was seen on camera clearing the guard of Rishabh Pant during the third test match played at Sydney Cricket Ground. After which, he was even called a fraudster on Twitter.

Langer said in a media conversation: ‘I can’t believe the nonsense I have heard about Smith. This is complete nonsense. If anyone knows Smith, he keeps doing strange actions on the pitch.
Justin Langer added: “ I’ve laughed at this thing a lot over the years. I have spoken publicly and even privately that Smith is a bit strange. What Smith did at the crease he does in a lot of matches.
He said, “ If somebody says that for a millisecond, they won’t be right at all. The wicket was very flat. It was like a cement wicket. You will need a 15-inch point to hollow out the fold.
Nathan Lyon also defended Steve Smith and said he was deeply disappointed with the way people were talking about Smith.
Lion said, “Obviously we’ve talked to him. We are in the bubble with us. I see them every day. But the way everyone jumped on it, I’m disappointed.
Lion added: “He’s played almost 80 test matches and he does that in every test match. To be honest, I’ve done that in every test match too. There is nothing wrong with that.
The off-spinner said, “Smith loves the stick. We all know that. We also know that even though we don’t hit in the remaining test matches, he still thinks about batting.
Lion said, ‘They did this to help me. They saw where I should throw the ball. How fast should we bowl. He will get the support of everyone in the Australian locker room.
