A Punjabi boy was shot and killed in a Walmart parking in the nearby Delta city of Surrey. The deceased was identified as 29-year-old Bikramdeep Singh Randhawa, an officer in the jail department. Police are investigating the cause of the murder. The chaos erupted in the evening near the gas station in front of Walmart as bullets fired. The action of the accused was captured on CCTV. About an hour after the incident, police set the car on fire in Barnabai. The accused are believed to have used the car to destroy evidence and set it on fire. Randhawa was an officer in Maple Ridge Jail, Inspector Guy Lesson said. Police closed the parking lot after the incident, forcing people to leave their cars overnight. Government Employees Union president Stephanie Smith lamented Randhawa’s death, saying, “The disgusting and cowardly incident should be seen as a challenge for law enforcement personnel.” The companions of the deceased stated that he was a very sociable and honest man.
