Germany’s environment minister has said that the government is considering spending more to deal with the new climate challenges. The German government has set targets for the next decade. The government has decided to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 65 percent by 2030. The target is to reduce emissions to 2045.
Chancellor Angela Merkel’s party member Andreas Jung said the option of raising taxes on carbon is being considered from next year. The Greens of Germany want a rate that can double renewable energy production. -App
