Former Team India Cricketer Salil Ankola Becomes Mumbai Chief Selector | Salil Ankola returns to cricket after appearing in films and gets new responsibility

Mumbai: Former Team India quick pitcher Salil Ankola has been selected as Mumbai’s new chief selector for the upcoming domestic season. The national season kicks off next month with the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The other members of the selection committee are Sanjay Patil, Ravindra Thaker, Zulfiqar Parkar and Ravi Kulkarni.

Salil Ankola, 52, played only one test match for the Indian team, in which he took 2 wickets. He also played 20 ODIs in which 13 wickets were taken. In national cricket, Ankola played 54 matches and won 181 wickets in which his best performance was 6 wickets for 47 races. Salil has also starred in Bollywood TV series and films, but is now very happy to join cricket.

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) said in its press release: “ The MCA Cricket Reform Committee has selected Salil Ankola (Chairman), Sanjay Patil, for the Senior Selection Committee for the 2020-21 season ( season ending March 31, 2021). Named Ravindra Thaker, Zulfikar Parker and Ravi Kulkarni ‘

The Cricket Reform Committee is made up of Lalchand Rajput, Rajiv Kulkarni and Sameer Dighe. The MCA said that soon the head coach of the senior men’s team will be announced. Significantly, due to the coronavirus epidemic, the domestic season has slowed down for several months.
