Bombing near the girls’ school in Kabul; 30 killed: Amore

Kabul, 8 May

A bomb blast near a Shia-majority girls’ school in western Kabul has killed at least 30 people, including young students. Most of the dead are aged between 11 and 15 years. A spokesman for the Government of Afghanistan gave this information. The Taliban have criticized the attack on civilians and denied responsibility. Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Aryan said the ambulance was rushing to the spot to evacuate the injured near the Saeed al-Shahda school in the Shia-dominated Dasht-e-Barchi area. Health Ministry spokesman Ghulam Dastagir Nazri said an angry mob attacked ambulances and beat up health workers. He appealed to the people to cooperate and allow ambulances to reach the spot. -App
