Washington, May 3
On the tenth anniversary of the assassination of Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, President Joe Biden said today that the United States would not allow itself to attack again and was fully committed to the pledge.
The al-Qaeda leader survived for nearly 10 years after September 11, 2001 and was killed by US forces in an intelligence operation in the Pakistani city of Abbottabad on May 1, 2011. Biden was vice president at the time. He said that he was in the White House situation room with President Barack Obama at the time of the operation. “Those moments can never be forgotten,” Biden said.
Undeterred President Biden praised intelligence officers and the operations team and recalled the clear decisions taken by President Obama. “By bringing Laden to his death, we have promised to lose our loved ones in the 9/11 attacks,” said Biden. -PTI
