New Delhi: Despite a shocking 7 wicket win in the second T20 game against England, bad news has arrived for Team India. In fact, the ICC on Sunday fined the Indian team 20% on top of the slowdown rate in the second T20 game played against England at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Motera.

The Indian team were convicted of throwing one less than the scheduled time during the match and were later fined by match referee Javagal Srinath. The ICC said in a statement that India had been found guilty of violating the ICC Code of Conduct 2.22. Therefore, their players are fined 20% of the match fee.

India won in second T20
The ICC further stated that Kohli had accepted his mistake and the amount of the fine and therefore there was no need to hold a formal hearing against him now. Field referees Anil Chaudhary and KN Ananthapadmanabhan and third referee Virender Sharma accused the Indian team. Host India beat England by seven wickets in Sunday’s second T20 game to win 1-1 in the T20 five-game series. The third T20 match between the two teams will be played on Tuesday at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.
