Melbourne: Former Indian team captain Sunil Gavaskar said he was happy to see legendary players from Australia praised the captaincy from interim captain Ajinkya Rahane (Ajinkya Rahane) led by the India in the second test match Winner by 8 wickets, the series was equal to 1-1.
Sunil Gavaskar said: ‘You have to be in the Aussie comment box to understand the appreciation he was receiving for the way he (Rahane) was leading the team and some of those Aussie legends included Those Who Were In the Box of comments.

He said: “So it’s encouraging to see them praise him for his leadership skills. These included legends like Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Mike Hussey, Shane Warne who praised the captaincy from Rahane (Ajinkya Rahane).
Sunil Gavaskar, however, has made it clear that Virat Kohli is the captain of the Indian Test team and that he is expected to take responsibility after his paternity leave. Kohli will be a father in January 2021 and he is currently present in India.
He said, “Rahane is the acting captain. An acting captain or an acting batsman or a new ball pitcher or an off-spinner you do your best then and when the main player comes back you have to free up some space for him.
Gavaskar was asked if there would be pressure on the Aussie team now, he said: “Definitely. They are not used to this type of situation. Every time they win the first test, they win the streak. Some former Australian cricketers were talking about 4-0. You now know what a team is. It’s not a team that gives you a chance to dominate yourself.
