12 killed, more than 300 injured in typhoon in China: Amore

Thunderstorms killed at least 12 people and injured more than 300 in central and eastern China. China’s state-run Xinhua news agency quoted the Cadian district government as saying that the Wuhan government had said eight people were killed and more than 230 were injured in the city. The storm came last night with a wind speed of 23.9 meters per second. As a result, around 27 houses collapsed and around 130 were damaged. About 90 minutes ago, another storm occurred in Shengze City, about 400 kilometers (15 mi) away in Jiangsu Province. The city government said that four people died and 19 were injured in the storm. -PTI
