AHMEDABAD: The ground that supports the spin at Motera is expected, but Indian captain Virat Kohli believes the fast bowlers will have a big role in the day three test against England as well.
In the four-game test series, the two teams are in a 1-1 draw. Ahead of the third Test, Virat Kohli said he believes that as long as the ball is strong and shiny, fast bowlers will have a chance in the game.
Kohli (Virat Kohli) said before the game: “I think the pink ball swings more than the red ball. When we first played in 2019 (against Bangladesh), we experienced it. Kohli ruled out that if the ground helps the fast bowlers then England will have a heavy advantage.
Kohli said: “I don’t mind the strong and weak sides of the England team. We also beat them on their home ground, where the ball moves more so as not to be disturbed by it.
Kohli said: “ And yes, the opposing team has a lot of weaknesses too, if you can take advantage of that. If it will be a friendly bowling alley for them, so will it be for us.

Both teams will enter this match amid uncertainties. The pink ball is known to help fast bowlers, but you have to see how much it helps spinners, who are India’s strong side at home.
Senior Indian batsman Rohit Sharma has already said it will be a favorable ground for spin. Kohli said that regardless of the surface, facing the pink ball is more difficult than the red ball.
He said: “ Any kind of court playing with a pink ball is more difficult. Especially in the evening. Yes there will definitely be a role for the spinners, but I don’t think the fast bowlers and new balls can be ignored. As long as the ball is strong and shiny, then because of the pink ball they will have a role in the game, which we know and prepare accordingly.
