A source from the Cricket Board of India (BCCI) told PTI-language on Saturday: “Ravindra Jadeja has a ‘dislocation’ and a fractured left thumb. It will be very difficult for him to wear gloves and a bat.

He said: “ Either way, he will stay away from the game for at least two to three weeks. This will prevent him from participating in the last test. Pant will be able to strike because his injury is not very serious.

The pants beat in the second run

However, the relief for India is that wicket batsman Rishabh Pant’s elbow injury is not very serious and he will likely strike in the second inning of the game.

Both of these players were hit on the short ball by the Australian fast bowlers. After which he was taken for a scan.

Earlier, a BCCI statement said: “Rishabh Pant suffered a left elbow injury while striking on Saturday. They were taken for a scan.

Pant, who scored 36 of 67 balls in the opening innings, was injured playing a draw on Pat Cummins’ short ball. He returned to the ground after tying the tape but couldn’t score quickly. He came back with a catch behind Josh Hazlewood’s wicket.

Reserve guard Wriddhiman Saha replaced him under ICC rules.

Team India in trouble

During the Indian innings Ravindra Jadeja suffered a Mitchell Starc left thumb injury and he did not appear to be able to play in Australia’s second inning in the third test. Their unbeaten 28-point innings helped India cut Australia’s opening innings by 100 points.
