Sydney: Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has questioned the decision to put Pat Cummins on rest after just 2 ODI Series games against the Indian team. Cummins was part of the Australian squad for the England tour in August and also played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during IPL 2020. He was rested for the last ODI under load management and will not be part of of the next T20 series.
Brett Lee said, “It might not be his decision, he might want to play, the players usually want to play. They shouldn’t be tired after 2 games. I’ve always found that personally, the more matches I played, the better the pace. Australia suffered a 13-point loss in the third ODI. Both teams are scheduled to compete in the 3-game T20 series starting December 4 in Canberra.

Brett Lee believes that if a player is injured he can be relaxed, but fit players should play as many games as possible. He said: “If I take a break for even a week, whether it’s a break from the tournament or I’m resting, after that you have to pick up the pace.”
