Discussing the different aspects of the team mix, Kohli said: “Yes, Rishabh will play tomorrow and play the role of wicket keeper. Recently he’s been performing well and he’s in a good position and we want him to move forward and improve every aspect of his game.
Kohli added: “ It will be with confidence while playing in this game and playing these games, we see Rishabh in this way. When he arrived in Australia after the IPL he was not on the limited overs team. He continued to work hard on his fitness and sports and found he was finally getting results. We were all very happy.
The Indian captain also clarified that bowlers who beat well will stay on top of their plan during the 4-Test round. At the same time, the opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill (Wriddhiman Saha) are expected to remain intact in the test series against England from here on Friday.
Virat Kohli said: “We are delighted to give them a chance in all four tests and they are giving us a good start. The main reason he won the test match was the type of stick he made in Australia. We are curious to find out about such things in this series.
Regarding Akshar, he said: “ We need a player whose skills are like Jadeja, Akshar brings the same in all three departments of the game. Jaddu (Jadeja) is not available so Akshar will be preferred because it brings the same type of skill to the field.
