New Delhi: Former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman believes Australian wickets are suited to Rohit Sharma’s hitting style and ‘Hitman’ after facing the new ball well at Sydney Test.
Rohit Sharma missed the Australia Tour limited overshoot and the first two tests due to injury in the IPL 2020. That test run is still 1-1.

Laxman reckons Rohit should be replaced in the squad by form opener Mayank Agarwal in the Sydney test from January 7. Agarwal has played rounds of 17, 09, 00 and 05 points so far.
Laxman said: “The Indian cricket team will be very happy with the return of Rohit Sharma, especially when Virat Kohli is not on the team. You want more experience in the Indian team because now is a good chance to take a 2-1 lead in Sydney and then win the series 3-1.
He said: “Rohit Sharma would like to show off his skills because I think his hitting style is compatible with the Australian wickets. If he puts his foot in the crease, faces the new ball well, then I’m sure he will score a great century.
Rohit Sharma started his testing career in 2013, but so far he has only played 32 test matches. He scored 2,141 points in 53 innings. During this time, it marked 6 centuries and 10 half centuries.
