New Delhi: After Adelaide’s disappointing test performance, it will be interesting to see which XI plays in the Team India Boxing Day Test. Young opener Prithvi Shaw’s poor form continues, while wicket keeper and seasoned batsman Wriddhiman Saha was unable to do anything. In such a situation, the possibility that these players will be selected in the last XI for the second test match against Australia is less.
The Indian team’s batting order turned out to be a complete flop on the first test. This happened to Team India under captain Virat Kohli, in such a situation there is concern that what will happen to the team without him. At the same time, experienced Rohit Sharma will not be able to join the team until the third Test.
Shubman Gill can debut
If we look at all the equations, Shubman Gill, who has brilliantly beaten in practice games, may have a chance as an opener.
As for Shaw (Prithvi Shaw), the 21-year-old Mumbai batsman’s technique, temperament and general attitude to the game have raised serious questions in Indian cricket lanes.
In addition to the flaws in his batting technique, his lineup is also not at the level of international cricket. Since the days of the IPL, questions have arisen about its commissioning. As well as being slow in the outfield, he also managed an easy catch by Marnus Labuschen which put 30 more points on the team.
In such a situation, Shubman Gill is almost certain to show up for the Boxing Day Test.
Shoaib Akhtar said of India team’s loss: ‘This loss is a nightmare for Virat’
The pants might have a chance to replace Saha
Having failed both rounds of the first Test, Saha (Wriddhiman Saha) failed to gain the confidence of the team management, in which Pant is sure to have a chance. Pant (Rishabh Pant) had scored a century in the practice match. He also played a century on the last tour of Australia (2018).
In place of Saha, 36, who is in the last stage of his career, the team management could try Pant in the next three games. If Pant’s (Rishabh Pant) performance is good in Australia then he is sure to have a chance in the domestic test series against England.
Saha’s bat (Wriddhiman Saha) has remained silent in Australia, England, New Zealand, and South Africa. His name is not from half a century in these countries.
Former MSK selector Prasad said that during his tenure there were plans for Saha and Pant. He said: “ I think Pant has improved his fitness over the past few months and looked in good rhythm while practicing the pink ball. In such a situation, if they have a chance in the next three tests, then I will support the management of the team ”.
Mohammed Siraj’s first set
Lokesh Rahul (KL Rahul) is expected to be replaced by skipper Virat Kohli on paternity leave, while Mohammed Siraj’s claim is strong in place of Mohammed Shami who has been excluded from the series due to injury.
In Kohli’s absence, the Indian team can field Hanuma Vihari at bat in fifth position. To secure a place in the team in place of Shami, there is a tough fight between Siraj and Navdeep Saini. However, Mohammed Siraj, who has performed better in practice matches, has a stronger claim.
