New Delhi: PV Sindhu, Olympic silver medalist and current badminton world champion, will train from February 16 at Gachibowli stadium in Hyderabad. Sindhu’s father said he left Pullela Gopichand Academy.
Former international volleyball player and father of Sindhu PV Ramana has made it clear that his daughter has moved to a new training location for psychological reasons. The reason is that the Gachibowli stadium gives the experience of playing in the world class venue.

PV Ramana says his daughter’s visit to Gachibolvi is unrelated to any disagreement with national coach Gopichand. Significantly, Pullela Gopichand has been playing the role of coach of PV Sindhu for a long time.
Arjuna Prize winner Ramana said PV Sindhu had not parted ways with Coach Gopichand, she wanted to train in an environment that made her feel like an Olympic venue. The Indian Sports Authority (SAI) and the Indian Badminton Association (BAI) are aware of this change.
Sindhu, 25, has yet to qualify for the Tokyo 2021 Olympics but is close to securing an Olympic berth. Wishing to step on the podium at the Tokyo Olympics in July-August, she will start training from Tuesday under the supervision of Korean coach Park Tae Sang.
Park Tae Sang resumed training from Kim Ji Hyun in September 2019, after leaving Sindhu with him. Sindhu won the singles title at the world championship held in the Swiss city of Basel in August 2019. She became the first Indian player to do so.
